Authorship and Contributorship
Authorship and Contributorship Policy
At TMP Universal Journal of Advances in Pharmaceutical Sciences, we uphold the highest ethical standards when it comes to authorship and contributorship. We expect all authors to have made significant contributions to the research and publication process and to adhere to the guidelines set forth by the journal to ensure the integrity and transparency of the work submitted.
Criteria for Authorship
To be considered an author on a paper submitted to TMP Universal Journal of Advances in Pharmaceutical Sciences, an individual must meet the following criteria:
- Substantial Contribution to Conceptualization: The author must have made a substantial intellectual contribution to the conception or design of the research.
- Involvement in Data Collection and Analysis: The author must have participated in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data.
- Drafting and Revising the Manuscript: The author must have actively contributed to drafting the manuscript and revising it critically for important intellectual content.
- Approval of Final Manuscript: The author must have approved the final version of the manuscript for submission and publication, ensuring that it is accurate and complete.
- Accountability for Research Integrity: The author must agree to be accountable for all aspects of the work, including ensuring that the questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.
All authors must fulfill these criteria to be listed as authors. Simply providing funding, administrative support, or technical assistance does not justify authorship. The authorship order should reflect the relative contributions of each individual.
Contributorship
In addition to authorship, individuals who have contributed to the research but do not meet the full criteria for authorship should be acknowledged as contributors. Contributors may include individuals who have:
- Provided technical assistance or specialized expertise
- Supported data collection or analysis
- Helped with literature review or manuscript preparation
- Assisted in language editing or proofreading
These contributions should be clearly acknowledged in the Acknowledgments section of the manuscript.
Corresponding Author
The Corresponding Author is the individual responsible for managing the manuscript submission process, communication with the journal, and final approval of the manuscript. The Corresponding Author is also the point of contact for any post-publication inquiries or corrections. It is the responsibility of the Corresponding Author to ensure that all co-authors approve the final manuscript before submission.
Order of Authors
The order of authors should reflect the level of contribution made by each individual. The first author should be the person who has made the most significant contribution, typically in terms of research design, data collection, analysis, and manuscript preparation. The last author is typically the senior author or principal investigator who supervised the work and provided overall guidance. Other authors should be listed in between according to their respective contributions.
In cases of equal contribution, authors may choose to indicate their shared role (e.g., "Co-first author" or "Co-last author").
Acknowledgment of Non-Authors
Individuals who have made significant contributions but do not qualify for authorship (e.g., providing funding, technical support, or administrative assistance) should be acknowledged in the Acknowledgments section. It is important to seek the permission of individuals who are being acknowledged before including their names.
Disputes and Resolution
In cases where there is a dispute regarding authorship or contributorship, the journal will follow a fair and transparent process to resolve the issue. The editorial board may request clarification from the authors and will mediate any disputes according to the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Compliance with Ethical Standards
All authors must adhere to the ethical standards set forth by the journal, including the appropriate handling of research involving human or animal subjects, and must ensure that they have obtained all necessary approvals and consents for their research.
By submitting a manuscript to TMP Universal Journal of Advances in Pharmaceutical Sciences, all authors agree to the terms outlined in this policy and confirm that they meet the authorship criteria.
