Our Plagiarism Policy outlines our stance on plagiarism, procedures for detecting it, and consequences for violations.

  1. Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism refers to the use of someone else's work, ideas, or intellectual property without proper acknowledgment or permission. This includes:

  • Copying or paraphrasing text, images, or data from other sources without citation.
  • Submitting work that has been previously published elsewhere without proper disclosure.
  • Falsifying data or research findings.
  • Self-plagiarism, where authors reuse their own previous work without proper citation or without informing the journal.
  1. Prevention of Plagiarism
  • Authors are required to ensure that their manuscript is free from any form of plagiarism, whether intentional or unintentional.
  • All sources, including previous publications, websites, and other media, must be appropriately cited and referenced according to the journal’s citation guidelines.
  • The journal encourages authors to utilize plagiarism detection tools before submitting their manuscripts to ensure that their work complies with ethical standards.
  1. Plagiarism Detection
  • Manuscripts submitted to TMP Universal Journal of Advances in Pharmaceutical Sciences will undergo a plagiarism check using reputable plagiarism detection software.
  • Any manuscript found to have significant text similarity with previously published work will be flagged for further investigation.
  1. Investigation and Consequences of Plagiarism
  • If plagiarism is detected, the editorial team will conduct a thorough investigation, including a review of the submitted manuscript and the suspected source(s).
  • Authors found to have engaged in plagiarism will be informed and given an opportunity to respond to the allegations.
  • If plagiarism is confirmed, the following actions may be taken:
    • Immediate Rejection: The manuscript will be rejected, and the author(s) will be prohibited from submitting further manuscripts to the journal for a period of time.
    • Retracted Publication: If the article has already been published, it will be retracted from the journal, and the retraction will be communicated to all relevant parties.
    • Reporting to Institutions: In cases of severe misconduct, the journal may report the incident to the author(s)' affiliated institution, funding bodies, or other relevant authorities.
    • Banning from Future Publications: The author(s) may be banned from submitting future articles to the journal.
  1. Self-Plagiarism
  • Self-plagiarism occurs when an author reuses portions of their own previously published work without proper citation. This includes submitting the same or very similar content in different manuscripts without disclosure.
  • Authors are expected to cite their previous work if they are reusing text, data, or ideas previously published, even if they are the original author.
  • Manuscripts found to contain significant self-plagiarism will be rejected or returned for revision, depending on the severity of the issue.
  1. Consequences for Repeated Offenses
  • Authors who repeatedly violate the plagiarism policy may face permanent bans from submitting to TMP Universal Journal of Advances in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
  • The journal reserves the right to take further disciplinary action in accordance with COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines, which may include reporting the violation to the author’s institution or funding body.
